Comintes
Helping Pergofrance design and develop France’s first locally produced range of pergolas.
Units is working with Comintes Group, a leading garden equipment distributor, to design and develop the first self-assembly pergola entirely manufactured in France, with the ambition to replace imported pergolas from their current catalog.
Following a thorough assessment of other pergolas currently available on the market, we identified product differentiation areas to improve the global product aesthetics and facilitate product assembly.
We worked with round sections rather than square ones, reduced the number of different metal parts and used polycarbonate sheets to create a visually lighter product with a strong contemporary appeal, enhancing the overall perceived value of the pergola, in line with its “made in France” pledge.
In close collaboration with structural engineers, we identified suppliers in France to help the team relocate production and rationalize use of materials. In parallel, we developed a comprehensive identity for the new Pergofrance brand, including virtual product imagery, logo and web design. The production of Pergofrance’s pergolas will begin in 2023.
